20ft High Cube Container - [160 sq ft]
Same footprint as the 20ft with around a foot more headroom. Worth it if you're stacking racking or storing anything tall, a ride-on with a roll bar, a marquee frame, tall retail fixtures.

40ft Container - [320 sq ft]
A double garage. Two tradesman's equipment or bulk materials. At this size you're paying less per square foot than any smaller unit.

40ft High Cube Container - [320 sq ft]
The largest unit on site. Racking down both sides with a pick path up the middle, or seasonal stock for a business with a real Christmas peak.

Both are self storage, but they're different products, and the right one depends on what you're moving in and out and when.

Access hours
Indoor sites have set opening hours and most close on at least some days of the year. Every container on our site is yours 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, including Sundays, bank holidays and the week between Christmas and New Year. If your day starts at five, that's important!

Getting things in and out
Indoor units mean a shared loading bay, a corridor and often a lift. A container is at ground level with hard standing in front of it — reverse the van, tipper or trailer to the door and load straight in. Nothing gets carried further than the back of the vehicle.

Headroom
Indoor units are limited by the ceiling height of the building. A standard container gives you 7ft 10in inside and a high cube adds around a foot on top of that, which is the difference between fitting a ride-on with a roll bar, a marquee frame or racking to the roof and not.

Size at the top end
Our largest single unit is 320 sq ft, and you can take a second container on the same site or move up to a compound with a container inside a secure fenced area.

How to Find our Green Guard Business Storage Units.
If you're looking for self storage in Salisbury we are on Old Malthouse Lane between Laverstock and Ford, just outside Salisbury. If you are coming from Salisbury centre, come under the railway bridge, take the first exit at the roundabout onto the A338, at the mini roundabout take the second exit onto Old Malthouse Lane, follow the road around the corner and you will see Fieldfare Business Park on your right, turn up the wide entrance track and you will see the storage containers at the top with plenty of space for cars, vans and larger removal vehicles.

If you are coming from the surrounding villages, Firsdown, Pitton, Winterslow etc the best way to get to Green Guard Storage is along the A30 towards Salisbury and turn down Old Malthouse Lane from the opposite end, past Fieldfare Trailers on your right and you will see Fieldfare Business Park on your left.

GreaseApe supplies workshop consumables through its website and a fleet of local sales vans that visit garages and workshops across Salisbury every week. Like many growing businesses, it started from home. As the product range and customer base expanded, boxes of stock gradually took over more and more space at Matt's home in Winterslow.

What can't I store?

Can I change to a bigger or smaller unit?
Yes. Because terms are month to month with no deposit, moving up or down costs you nothing but the time to shift things across. You can also take a second container on the same site rather than moving everything, and we have secure open compounds if you outgrow containers entirely.
